Palak Paneer Recipe | How to Make Palak Paneer Recipe

Ingredients of Palak Paneer Recipe:-

  • 500 grams spinach
  • 225 grams paneer, cut into cubes
  • 5 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger,  finely chopped 
  • 1 green chili, or more to taste
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup water, or as needed
  • 2 tbsp salt, according to taste
  • 2/3 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp red chili powder 
  • 2-3 tbsp  cream, or adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp kasuri methi, dried fenugreek leaves

How to make Palak Paneer Recipe:-

  1. Rinse the Palak or Spinach leaves in water.
  2. Boil 3 cups of water in a pan. Add 1/4 tsp salt to the boiling water and stir.
  3. Then add the palak leaves in hot water. Let the palak leaves sit in the water for a minute.
  4. Immediately add the palak leaves in ice-cold water. This helps the leaves in retaining their green color.
  5. To a blender, add the palak along with tomato, 3 cloves of garlic, ginger and green chili.  
  6. Make a smooth palak puree. keep the palak puree aside.
  7. Heat a pan on medium flame. Once hot, add the oil or ghee or butter and then add 2 cloves of chopped garlic. Cook for a few minutes until it starts changing color.
  8. Then add the chopped onions.
  9. Cook the onion fro 2 to 3 minutes until soft and golden.
  10. Add in the prepared palak puree and mix well. Also add around 1/2 cup water. Stir again.
  11. Cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. stir at regular intervals to avoid sticking at the bottom.
  12. Once the palak is cooked, add the garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt.
  13. Mix and cook for 1 minute.
  14. Then add the cream and mix.
  15. Stir in the paneer and mix. Let the curry simmer for 4 to 4 minutes.
  16. Switch off the flame.
  17. Serve palak paneer with naan or roti or rice.
